Whole Chicken

Delicious and juicy, Bell & Evans' premium roasters have no retained water, resulting in a more flavorful roast. Season with fresh herbs and spices for a white tablecloth meal.

For Thawed/Fresh Birds:

  • Roast at 350°F for 20 minutes per lb.
  • Roast at 425°F for 15 minutes per lb.

NOTE: Every oven varies.  These are guidelines only. Be sure to cook to an internal temperature of 165°F at the thickest part of the breast.

I was at a different Whole Foods then the one I go to on a regular basis and they didn’t carry your whole chicken so I bought one of theirs. Never again. Going forward if it is not your chicken I will do without. Your chickens are far superior to the rest. Keep up the good work!!

I noticed in the giblet package there is no liver. That is fine. I’m just wondering why? Also, can I assume this chicken (whole packaged) is ‘organic’ though I don’t see the label “ORGANIC”?

Hands down, no competition, the best chicken there is.

Always ate grocery store chicken, and it started to make me sick a couple years ago.

Went vegetarian for a while and then a few months ago we found Bell & Evan’s.

We can eat any of the Bell & Evan’s products and not have any negative side effects like we get with other chicken.

Sous Vide Everything (guga food sister youtube channel), highly recommended you guys, now I am hunting for your whole chickens – Sarasota / Port Charlotte area. I found a spot, need to plan a trip.

I just bought a fresh Bell & Evans whole chicken at Whole Foods Market downtown Sarasota.
      Roasting it tonight!
      Will let you know!

I have bought Bell & Evans chicken products for the last two months because of GuGa Foods YouTube channel recommendation. Delicious I must say. I’m never going back to eating any other chicken brand to cook at home if I’m buying. I even gave a friend of mine a whole chicken and his wife said it made the best chicken and dumplings she had ever cooked in her life. So now you have two new customers.

My wife found one of your chickens in a local Stop and Shop yesterday. We cooked it last night. It was hands down the best chicken we have ever tasted!! Congrats and keep up the excellent work!! Leftovers tonight – can’t wait!!

Sometimes the chickens contain giblets and sometimes they do not. How can I tell the difference?

    1. 6 years ago

Hi KS, We understand your desire for the giblets to be in your whole chicken purchases and you are not alone in that. Unfortunately, because we also sell giblets separately in bulk, there are times when we do not have the giblets to include in the whole chickens. Also, if the giblets do not meet our quality standards we will not be included with the chicken. When available, we do continue to include the giblets. At this time, we are not equipped to run different packaging stating if or not giblets are included.

        No “review” but a question.
What do you feed your regular chickens? We thought we were buying an organic chicken from a butcher only to find out it was a regular one. From reviews, the regular check is sound superb, but I’m just wondering about what they eat.

I’ve been buying this chicken forever. It really is the best out there. None of the slimy gunk found in other chickens, no artifical coloring – just good chicken. My Mom, raised in NC, swore there was no difference in chicken. I sent her some. After cooking, she called me to “eat crow” because she agreed there was definitely a difference in the quality and taste. She’s a convert. Thank you for such an excellent product in a time when everyone else is trying to cut corners and pass off substandard food on the public. Customer for life.

The chickens are always great, but where’s the liver? No liver in the last 3-4 chickens. How can you sell a “whole” chicken without a liver?

If the giblets are inside, are they wrapped in paper or plastic? My chicken is still frozen shut at the legs and I can’t see if they are in there!

    1. 6 years ago

Hi Kim! We do package our giblets in a paper bag. We do not suggesting cooking the bird with the bag inside. We can not suggest the chicken would be safe to eat.

I got one in August (2023). It’s frozen now.
I read reviews and I’m confused.
Are giblets in or there are no giblets?
I think you should have written that info above in description part.

    We love Bell&Evans chickens.
    The best!
Just haven’t tried the whole chicken before..

    1. 3 years ago

Hi Melissa, during harvest, giblets are removed from the chicken for separate processing and sometimes not able to be repackaged with the bird. We make every attempt to sell whole birds with giblets but cannot make the guarantee.

I am a 75 year-old great grandmother living on Social Security and savings, but I will buy Bella and Evans chicken over any in the refrigerator case at the store. I can’t go back now even when they have great sales on the store chicken I just said no, you’re not gonna be happy! The hot cooked chicken at our store is the convenience factor when my grandchildren come to visit because they everybody wants something different to eat
