Rooted in Relationships

We believe lasting sustainability begins with the people who grow, produce, deliver, and support our products every day.

True Sustainability - Our People

At Bell & Evans, sustainability starts with people. We believe strong relationships are the foundation of a sustainable future, which is why we invest in the families, farmers, growers, vendors, business partners, and team members who make our work possible. By partnering with like-minded, family-owned businesses that share our values and commitment to excellence, we help strengthen local communities, support responsible growth, and build a supply chain rooted in trust, integrity, and long-term success.

Committed to Stewardship

The Bell & Evans Standard

Everything we do is thoroughly considered for sustainability.

That includes every building material we use, process designed, and machinery purchased is meticulously selected to achieve ultra premium quality, efficiency, traceability, food safety, personal safety and humane handling of our chickens for the long term.

water-holding-tanks Resources

Bell & Evans conserves energy and natural resources through innovative practices.

41% of site water is reconditioned for reuse in processing, and 100% Air Chill saves 400,000 gallons daily. Over half of our facility heat comes from recycled waste heat, heating 250 gallons of water per minute without extra fuel. Cooled interstitial space above our ceilings creates a thermos effect to reduce energy use, and energy-efficient LED lighting is used throughout.

community-tent Community

Home grown. Here to stay.

We are dedicated philanthropists, utilizing time and financial resources to give back to the community. We encourage business colleagues, friends, and partners to increase their philanthropic involvement in matters both large and small. In Fredericksburg, the Sechler family has a rich history of backing various community projects, from developing ball fields to sponsoring the annual weekend-long Hinkelfest chicken festival. Their support for local farmers and FFA organizations includes purchasing livestock raised by students in 4-H  and FFA programs, actively fostering the growth of agriculture in Pennsylvania.

Chicken Sign at Plant 3 Facilities

We continually invest in our facilities, equipment, and infrastructure for long-term growth and efficiency.

In the past decade, we’ve built a new Hatchery, Harvesting Facility, Further Processing Facility, and Wastewater Treatment Plant in Fredericksburg, PA. Built with premium materials like precast concrete and acid brick flooring, our facilities are designed for durability and future expansion.

Bell & Evans Humane Hatchery Processes

We prioritize sustainable, common-sense practices.

Our chickens are fed 100% extruded, expeller-pressed soybeans—never hexane-processed. We recycle chicken litter for local mushroom compost and use fully recyclable bulk cases and #1 PETE retail trays. Every step reflects our ultra premium, environmentally responsible approach.

A Note from the Sechlers

We’ve promoted our improvements and results for years, giving the other guys plenty of opportunity to copy us. The difference is that when we make improvements, we do it for the right reasons—for the better of our chickens and our customers. We’re proud to lead and influence the poultry industry, especially as a smaller producer. And we’re not done!
