Can you let us know if you use growth hormone ir any hormones on your chicken?
Hi Kuci, no hormones have been allowed in poultry production for more than 50 years. Hormone use in poultry production was banned in the United States in the 1950s.
Taste great. No one else in my family eats them. How long to they last once the container is opened?
Hi Adam, the USDA’s Food Safety & Inspection Service recommends that fresh, raw poultry be used within one or two days when stored in a household refrigerator. Product should not be consumed beyond the use-by date printed on the package. Thank you for the kind words!
So they should be eaten with 1-2 days after opening…assuming it is before the expiration date. I just can’t eat a whole container that fast.

I buy these regularly and love them. I have enjoyed chicken livers since I was a kid. Also, They are essential to my dog who has heart disease. The newest jar I bought does not have a use buy date.

I have never had chicken livers as tasty as these since my mom use to go to the neighborhood butcher shop, and get them at the counter. Now, decades later, I don’t have to wonder whatever happened to good tasting livers.
Is it healthy to eat chicken livers everyday? Also how do you eat them? Do you have to cook them or are they already seasoned and cooked? I have never cooked them at home before only had chicken livers in french restaurants. Thanks for your advice
Hi Francis! Chicken livers, as with any food, should be eaten in moderation. A well balanced diet is important. Please check with your doctor before making any major changes in your diet. Chicken livers are high in iron, to give you energy, and B-12. Our chicken livers are raw when purchased, and must be cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F before consuming. There are several ways to cook them. You can fry them, sauté or boil them. Hello, are the packages for these air tight? I bought one that isn’t completely sealed. Is it safe to eat? Not sure if these jars are supposed to allow airflow or if they are supposed to be sealed. Very excited to try

I love your chicken livers. For the last two years I’ve had iron deficiency so my doctor recommended I eat chicken liver and it did miracles for me.

Reversed all symptoms of my pregnancy anemia, ate them a few times a week in my third trimester. Will continue but in more moderation now. Just wish I didnt have to drive an hour to find them, would love to pay to have them shipped to me frozen in bulk.

Do we need to wash or soak chicken liver that comes in jar
Our chicken livers do not need to be rinsed or washed before cooking. Any fluid in the jar is naturally occurring juice from the chicken. The USDA does not recommend washing poultry as it can spread bacteria that can lead to cross-contamination and foodborne illness. I love these but cannot find the “use by” date on the jars. Am I missing it?
I have a container of chicken livers with a date of 12/19…..can I still use them today, 12/21?
They did have an odor when I opened them but not sure if that’s normal?

Hi Janet, Hello, thank you for reaching out to Bell and Evans! We do not recommend using our products after the use by date if they were not frozen on or prior to the date printed on the package. If you did use them before 12/21, it should be fine.
