On November 20th 2007, The New York Times reported that the USDA withdrew their approval for Tyson Foods Antibiotic Free label due to the use of ionophores in their feed formulation. The USDA stated that it had long considered ionophores to be antibiotics and in a letter dated November 6th 2007 the USDA informed Tyson Foods the “the labels at issue were thus approved in error.”

We at Bell & Evans would like to assure all of our loyal customers that we do not use any types of antibiotics or ionophores to raise our chickens.
